Sand Goblin
As seen in Sand Sports Magazine February 2004
Jeff Stowe's "Sand Goblin" buggy gets its wicked attitude from the engine and drivetrain that's mounted out back. The
motor started life as a 4.6L GM Northstar. It was reworked by the crew at MechTech Motorsports, increasing the stock
275hp rating to nearly 650hp! They installed a pair of turbo-grind camshafts, along with a set of high-rev valve springs
and heavy duty retainers.
MechTech also ported and polished the cylinder heads, and installed stainless steel valves. The engine now uses thermal coated headers, (built by MechTech), along with MechTech's Chrome and Polish Package that includes alternator, power steering pump, rear cover plate, pulley and hardware.
